I’m an ESL teacher, writer and recovering poet using this space to re-develop my writing skills, and explore the world around me. I’m unreasonably preoccupied with dogs, the endless delight they elicit in even the most weary and hard-hearted humans, and their well-deserved supermodel status, which compels me to ferret out and post pics of those canine catwalkers who strut their stuff for our cameras. I’m always on the hunt for dog photos and words that can do them justice, from witty rejoinders to poetry.
This is also a space to explore my hometown of Vancouver, British Columbia, from its artists, to its cuisine, and everything that falls in between. It’s an experiment, and a work-in-progress, and that’s about all I can muster up for my “About” page.

I’ve come back to the country where I was happy
changed. Passion puts no terrible strain on me now.
I wonder what will take the place of desire.
I could be the ghost of my own life returning
to the places I lived best. Walking here and there,
nodding when I see something I cared for deeply.
Now I’m in my house listening to the owls calling
and wondering if slowly I will take on flesh again.
